This new custom home has many ideas for future needs. A current health condition may require one of the owners to live on one level and the home includes features that would allow limited mobility. This includes a roll-in shower, zero-height-change entry from the garage, wide hallways and doorways, a large laundry room on the main floor, and a continuous path from master bedroom to master bath/walk-in closet and to the laundry room.
The owners are frequent entertainers and have a kitchen that is open to the dining area and living room. Just to the side of the kitchen peninsula is a sunroom for more entertaining as well as for quiet gatherings and reading.
To the left side of the first photo is the beverage area. It is a dedicated area for coffee, cold drinks and glassware. It allows guests to serve themselves and keeps the daily coffee/drink implements off the main kitchen countertops.
Just outside the front door is a seating area for more entertaining. The grandkids who live across the street can easily see if their grandparents are relaxing outside and come over for a visit.
Inside the garage entry is built-in storage for daily coats and shoes. A nook behind the fireplace is accessed by a door and is a place to run SmartHome wiring and other controls.
In addition to the house being built for one-level living, the basement has been planning to include living space in case one of the owners' parents would need to live with them on a full-time basis.
